Mother's Day 2014

This was my second year to celebrate Mother's Day and they really do get better every year! I often think about the day that I became a Mother. It was the most incredible and painful and beautiful day of my life. I felt like I was reborn again. Reborn into my new self. A Mother. A Giver. A Nurturer. A Protector. A Lover. Feelings I never thought I could feel, I felt all of a sudden and all at once. Those feelings have only expanded since. At times it still seems so surreal that I AM A MOTHER and that this little person with so much spunk and enthusiasm, who looks at me as only he can, is mine forever.

We had no plans for the day but I wanted to do something other than sit in the house all day. It was a beautiful day, we woke up early and I thought why not take a drive to San Antonio for the day and eat some good Mexican food and go to the Zoo?! And so we did! I just love those kind of days...when you have no plans at all and you just get up and go. I love it! Spur of the moment road trips always seem to be the best. Wouldn't you agree?

La Hacienda de Los Barrios in San Antonio is one of my favorites. From the puffy tacos to the live music, the HUGE outdoor patio perfect for enjoying one of their yummy Sangarita's and even the play ground for the kids, it's the one place I always want to go while in San Antonio.

After filling our bellies with the goodness of La Hacienda, we ventured to the San Antonio Zoo. I hadn't been in years and Jackson has (obviously) never been and I was so excited to take him. He was the cutest thing! He just looked at everything and took it all in, every once in a while yelling "Goggy" (Doggy) at the Rhino or watching the monkey's closely to see where they would jump next. I love just watching Jackson, wondering what is going on in that beautiful mind of his. Always thinking that one.

To my Momma: I know that there are not enough words in any language to fully express how I feel about you. Despite that, I would love for you and the world to know that you mean the world and more to Jackson and I. God couldn’t have given us a better mother and grandmother. I love you more then life itself. You raised me beyond right, and are continually guiding me in raising Jackson the same. All the love you’ve given me throughout my 29 years has molded me to become the person I am today, and without you, I would never have succeeded in life. I thank you for every second chance you’ve given me, for making sure I was clothed, fed, educated and loved, for always continuing to be here for me through everything that I’ve been through. I cannot express how much appreciation I have for you. Words will not ever be enough to express what you mean to me, but I will continue showing you until the end. Thank you for all that you’ve done, & all you continue to do.Last but certainly not least, I am PROUD to say that I have the most amazing mother in the world, and I am beyond ecstatic for Jackson to become old enough to realize what a wonderful Bebe he has! I pray that I am half the mother to Jackson that you have been to me.

My sweet sweet boy. You saved my life and I will forever be grateful that I have been blessed to be YOUR mother. You will never know the joy that you bring to my life. It is so much fun being YOUR Momma.

Happy {belated} Mother's Day to ALL of the Momma's out there and especially to my two beautiful Momma's. Debbie and Jena. I love you both very very much!

Father's Day 2014

This year for Father's Day we just spent the day hanging out with my Dad and my step-mom and really enjoyed each others company. Watching Jackson get into things at my Dad's house and his G-ma getting after him is so funny sometimes. Until he's getting into things he really shouldn't be...then it's not so funny. We also went over to my uncle's house to visit, they had just come back from Disney World and brought Jackson the CUTEST gifts! Including the MOST ADORABLE ears EVER complete with his name on them and everything! He loved them so much he cried when I took them off. He wanted to wear them all night. It was the cutest thing EVER. SO THANK YOU to my Uncle Bill and Aunt Roseanne for always thinking of Jackson and being so kind to myself and my sweet boy. We love ya'll!

After Jackson got his goodies, I took my Dad and Step-mom out to lunch to show my appreciation. I know its not much but it's the least I could do for all they have done for me. You may not believe me but I have been a pretty tough cookie to deal with over the years. But my family has been by my side through it all and I have come out stronger and wiser and I will continue to appreciate them every single day.

Father's Day was fun and relaxing and I hope that you enjoyed your day as well!

Happy Father's Day to ALL of the Daddy's out there! May they be forever blessed!

To my Pop: I just wanted to let you know that I love you so much and I am so grateful to be blessed with you as my Dad. I admire everything you do. You are by far one of the most influential people in my life.  You have set your goals high and you accomplish them no matter how hard or impossible they seem. I've always looked up to you, tried to be like you, and be my own person the way you are.  You never follow the crowd and you do what you believe is right. You are so amazing Dad!  I know you're always so humble, but you really deserve an award or something!  For so many things!  You still rock out like no other Dad I know, you fix everything around the house like it's nothing, you are a master when it comes to computers, and you're knowledge is out of this world! I love when you tell me corny jokes and puns and make fun of things.  You make me so happy. I don't think anyone else has experienced you the way I have and sometimes I think I'll forever be your little girl and our relationship is priceless. We just seem get each other. I'm so blessed to have you and the relationship we share.  You keep me grounded. More than that you have provided for me, kept a roof over my head, food in my stomach, education at my hands, and more than I need to survive. You've worked so hard all your life and I just want you to know that it's very much appreciated.  We all love you so much.  And even though I may have strayed away a time or two, I have always come back. You motivate me to do my best in everything and your wisdom is so valuable and appreciated. I love watching you with Jackson. It warms by heart times infinity. You will never know the joy it brings to see you play with him and how happy he gets when he hears that we are going to "Papa's house". I love going to Shiner with you. I love hearing you tell stories about when you were growing up. I love that you are so proud of where you come from. I admire so much about you and I love you endlessly.

Thank you for everything you've done for me.

I am one very proud and very blessed Mother and Daughter.
